Adjusting Your Audio Volume in Windows 11 and Windows 10

Requirements to Adjust Your Audio Volume

Before adjusting your volume, make sure the following requirements are met:

  • Operating System:
    Windows 10 (Version 1903 or newer) or Windows 11

  • Audio Device:
    The VCE AVER high end webcam

  • Permissions:
    Local user account with permission to modify sound settings

  • Device Status:
    Audio device recognized and enabled in Windows (no errors shown in Device Manager > Sound


How to Adjust Your Audio Volume

Follow the steps below depending on your version of Windows:


For Windows 11

  1. Click on the Sound Icon
    In the taskbar (bottom-right corner), click the speaker icon.

  2. Use the Volume Slider
    Drag the slider left to decrease or right to increase the volume.

  3. Access Advanced Sound Settings (optional)

    • Right-click the speaker icon and select Sound settings.

    • Under Output, you can adjust the device volume or troubleshoot issues.


For Windows 10

  1. Click on the Sound Icon
    In the taskbar (bottom-right corner), click the speaker icon.

  2. Use the Volume Slider
    Move the slider left to lower or right to raise the volume.

  3. Open Volume Mixer (optional)

    • Right-click the speaker icon.

    • Select Open Volume Mixer to control the volume for individual apps separately.


Common Troubleshooting

If you’re unable to adjust the volume:

  • Ensure your output device (speakers or headphones) is connected and selected.

  • Update or reinstall your audio drivers.

  • Restart your PC to refresh audio services.

  • Run the Windows Troubleshooter:
    Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters > Playing Audio.
