This guide explains how to connect your smart glasses to the Eduroam Wi-Fi network using the onboard controls of the Smart Glass.
Eduroam is a secure, global Wi-Fi network available to students, researchers, and staff at participating institutions.
Requirements
Before you begin, make sure you have:
A valid Eduroam account
Your username (e.g., [email protected])
Your password
Your smart glasses powered on and charged
Navigating the Smart Glasses (Buttons)
The Smart Glass is controlled using physical buttons:
Up / Down buttons (the two buttons closest to the display): Scroll through menus
Select button (located directly behind the Up / Down buttons): Confirm or open an option
Connect to Eduroam
1. Open Wi-Fi Settings
Go to Settings
Select Wi-Fi (or Connections > Wi-Fi)
Choose eduroam from the list of available networks
2. Configure Network Settings
Enter the following details:
EAP Method: PEAP
Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2
CA Certificate:
Select Use system certificates
If unavailable, choose Don't validate or Do not validate
Domain:
Enter your institution’s domain
Example: leedsbeckett.ac.uk
Identity / Username:
Enter your full institutional email or username
Example: [email protected]
Anonymous Identity:
Leave this field blank
Password:
Enter your institutional password
3. Connect
Select Connect
Wait a few seconds while the device authenticates
Result
Once connected:
The network will show as Connected
Your smart glasses will have internet access
Troubleshooting
Ensure your username includes your institution domain
Double-check your password
Toggle Wi-Fi off and on if needed
Restart the device if connection fails
Contact your institution’s IT support if issues persist
