Requirements

You will need:

  • The computer you will use to run your VCE™ sessions

  • An available USB A port

From your VCE™ Case:

  • Dell UltraSharp 4K Webcam

  • USB C to USB A cable

  • Dell tripod adapter

  • Ulanzi floor stand

1. Attach the camera to the floor stand

Attach the Dell tripod adapter to the top of the Ulanzi stand (desk or floor). Place the Dell camera securely onto the tripod adapter. Adjust the height of the stand so that the camera can easily capture the patient.

2. Connect the camera

  1. Connect the USB C end of the supplied cable to the camera.

  2. Connect the USB A end directly to your computer.

  3. Make sure both ends of the cable are fully connected.

The camera receives power through the USB connection, so no separate power supply is required.

The camera is plug and play. You do not need to install additional software to use it with VCE™.

3. Remove the lens cover

Remove the magnetic lens cover from the front of the camera before use.

The cover can be attached magnetically to the back of the camera while you are using it.

4. Position the camera

The Close Up Camera is designed to give learners a better view when something is difficult to see using the main Clinical Room Camera.

Move the floor stand towards the examination area when you want learners to see:

  • A physical examination

  • A procedure

  • A particular part of the patient

  • Other clinical detail that requires a closer view

Adjust the height, angle and position of the floor stand until the relevant area is clearly visible.

5. Check the camera in VCE™

Open VCE™ on the computer you will use for your sessions.

Go to Setup and Devices and run the device check.

Select the Dell UltraSharp Webcam as your Close Up Camera.

Check that:

  • The camera appears in VCE™

  • The image is clear

  • The examination area is visible

  • You can easily move and reposition the camera when required

Your Close Up Camera is ready

Once the camera appears correctly in VCE™ and you are happy with its position, your Close Up Camera is ready to use.

During a session, move the camera towards the examination area whenever learners need a closer view.
