After participating in a VCE™ session, it’s important to finalise your learning experience by obtaining proof of attendance and reflecting on what you’ve learned. This guide explains how to get your attendance certificate, how to use it, and why filling out the reflection section is essential.
Obtaining proof of attendance
Your participation is tracked during the VCE™ session. If you are present for at least 90% of the session, you’ll automatically be marked as present and can download your proof of attendance certificate.
Steps to obtain your certificate:
Check your attendance status
Log in to your VCE account and go to your profile to see if you’ve been marked as present.
Download your certificate
Once marked present, download your proof of attendance certificate, which includes details of the session.
Request manual verification
If you weren’t automatically marked present, request manual verification through your profile. The clinician will review your attendance.
Using the attendance certificate
The proof of attendance certificate is a valuable document that you can use for:
Academic credit
Submit it as proof of participation in required educational activities.
Professional development
Add it to your professional portfolio or continuing education records.
University records
Ensure your participation is recorded in your academic transcript or student record.
Reflecting on the session
Reflection is a crucial part of learning in VCE™ sessions. After each session, use the reflection section in your profile to process what you’ve learned, understand its importance, and think about how to apply this knowledge in future scenarios.
How to complete the reflection:
Access the reflection section
Go to your VCE profile and find the reflection section linked to your session.Answer the reflection prompts
What? Summarise the key points and experiences from the session.
So what? Reflect on the significance of the session and what you learned.
Now what? Identify any areas for further development and plan how to apply the knowledge.
Save your reflection
Ensure your responses are saved.
Why reflection matters
Reflection deepens your learning by helping you think critically about the session content. It identifies areas for improvement and solidifies the knowledge you gained. Completing the reflection is also often required for finalising your proof of attendance and may be necessary for certain academic or professional programs.
