Set up your VCE™ Clinical Room Camera (AVer VB130)

The VCE™ Clinical Room Camera is your main camera and audio device during a VCE™ session. It provides learners with a wide view of the clinical room so they can see and hear the clinician and patient.

Requirements:

  • The computer and monitor you will use to run your VCE™ sessions

  • An available USB-A or USB-C port

  • An available power outlet

From your VCE™ Case:

  • AVer VB130 Clinical Room Camera

  • Monitor mount

  • Power cable

  • USB cable

  • AVer remote control

  • 2 AAA batteries for the remote control

1. Mount the camera on your monitor

Open the supplied AVer monitor mount and attach it securely to the VB130 using the tripod screw.

Place the VB130 centrally on top of the monitor you will use for your VCE™ sessions.

Adjust the mount so the camera sits securely and faces the consultation area.

2. Connect the camera

The VB130 requires both power and a USB connection.

  1. Connect the supplied power adapter to the VB130.

  2. Plug the power adapter into a wall socket or extension lead.

  3. Connect the supplied USB cable to the VB130.

  4. Connect the other end to your computer.

  5. If your computer only has USB-C ports, use the supplied USB-C adapter.

The VB130 is plug and play. You do not need to install any additional software to use it with VCE™.

3. Position your consultation room

The VB130 is designed to provide the main view of the consultation.

Position the monitor so that the camera has a clear view of the clinical area.

Aim to have:

  • the clinician clearly visible

  • the patient clearly visible

  • enough of the surrounding room visible to understand the consultation

  • the camera facing the consultation rather than directly towards a window or bright light

Use the supplied remote control to adjust the camera view if needed.

4. Check your camera in VCE™

Open VCE™ on the computer you will use for your sessions.

Go to Setup & Devices and run the device check.

Select the AVer VB130 as your:

  • Main camera

  • Microphone

  • Speaker

Check that:

  • you can clearly see the consultation area

  • both clinician and patient are visible

  • your microphone is working

  • you can hear audio through the VB130

Using the AVer remote control

The supplied remote control allows you to adjust the camera and audio during setup and your VCE™ sessions.

For most sessions, you will only need it to make small adjustments to the camera view.

Advanced camera settings

You do not need any additional software to use the VB130 with VCE™.

AVer's PTZApp 2 can be installed if you need access to advanced camera settings, including image and audio configuration, AI functions and additional camera controls.

For normal VCE™ use, we recommend leaving the default settings unchanged.
