Step 1: Open Sound Settings
Right-click on the Speakers icon in your taskbar and select Sound settings (Windows 11) or Open Sound settings (Windows 10).
Alternatively, go to: Start > Settings > System > Sound
Step 2: Select 'USB Audio Device' as Default Input
Under the Input section, locate the dropdown menu labeled Choose your input device.
From the list of available devices, select USB Audio Device or the name of your USB adapter (e.g., ATR2USB).
Important: If it’s not listed, ensure the stethoscope is securely plugged into the USB adapter, and that the adapter is properly connected to your computer. Wait a few moments for Windows to detect the device.
Step 3: Verify Input Status and Set as Default
After selecting the USB audio device:
Confirm that input activity bars (under "Test your microphone") show signal when the stethoscope is active.
This confirms the system is receiving audio from the Thinklabs One.
Step 4: Optional – Advanced Settings
For application-specific routing:
Scroll down and click Advanced sound options (labeled App volume and device preferences).
In this section, assign the USB Audio Device to specific apps like Zoom, Teams, or recording software, ensuring they pull audio directly from the Thinklabs One.
